Imports overview
Pull references you've already saved elsewhere (X bookmarks, Pinterest boards, Dribbble shots) onto a Krafa board without re-collecting them.
You've been saving design references for years. They're in your X bookmarks, on a Pinterest board, in your Dribbble likes. Imports bring them onto a canvas so that back catalog becomes a taste profile instead of a graveyard.
Where to find them
Two entry points, both inside a board:
- ⌘K → Import from X / Import from Pinterest / Import from Dribbble
- Right-click empty canvas → Import → pick a source
Each opens a sheet listing what you've saved. Click any item and it becomes a node on the canvas at the same moment the sheet closes, exactly as if you'd pasted it, including taste extraction.
Available sources
X (Twitter)
Your recent bookmarks, each landing as a post node with the author and any article preview.
Browse your boards without leaving the canvas, then pull individual pins onto it one at a time.
Dribbble
Your saved shots, each landing as an image node and running through taste extraction.
Pinterest and Dribbble drill in: pick a board, and the sheet transitions sideways into its pins. X is a flat list of your most recent bookmarks.
Importing well
The temptation with a thousand saved pins is to bring them all across. Don't. A profile built from everything you've ever found interesting describes nobody.
Start with one coherent set
One Pinterest board, or the last few weeks of bookmarks. Enough for Krafa to find a pattern, small enough that you can read every memory it produces.
Read the profile before importing more
Open the taste panel. If the memories sound like you, keep going. If they don't, the references were the problem, so delete them and pick differently.
Split when you hit conflicts
Frequent conflict prompts mean you're importing two different aesthetics onto one board. Give them separate boards; each gets its own MCP token, so your agents can use them independently.
Imports are the fastest way to fill a board and the fastest way to ruin one. Ten deliberate references beat two hundred imported ones, and you can always import more.
Nothing syncs
An import is a one-time copy. Unbookmarking a post on X doesn't remove the node from your board, and new bookmarks don't appear automatically. The board is yours to curate, not a mirror of an account you don't control.
Removing an imported node works like any other deletion, including pruning the memories it produced.
